La Address Retreat – The Heritage Homestay, Ooty

We had a wonderful stay at LA Address Retreat Homestay in Ooty. The place has a beautiful vintage look and a warm, homely atmosphere. Although the breakfast and dinner options were limited, everything was delicious and tasted just like home-cooked food.

A special mention to Robin, the cook, who was very helpful and always ready to assist us. Mr. Amar was equally kind and welcoming. He regularly checked on us, making sure the food was good and that we were comfortable throughout our stay.

I would highly recommend this place for families looking for a peaceful and homely stay in Ooty. Another big plus is that it is pet-friendly!

We stayed at La Adress Retreat, Ooty for a couple of nights during the Muharram long weekend, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip.

If you're looking for sweeping valley views from your window, this may not be the place. But what it lacks in panoramic scenery, it more than makes up for with its incredible old-world heritage charm. The property has a warm, cozy character that immediately makes you feel at home, and every corner reflects thoughtful attention to detail.

The entire retreat is beautifully decorated and meticulously maintained by Amarendra and his trusted right-hand man, Robin. The heritage-inspired décor, vintage furnishings, and tasteful lighting create an atmosphere that feels timeless. Our room was spacious, and both the bedroom and bathroom were designed in an elegant British colonial style that added to the overall experience.

One of our favourite parts of the stay was simply spending time within the property itself. The walkways and common spaces are charmingly lit in the evenings, making it a pleasure to sit outside on a chair, enjoy the crisp Ooty air, and soak in the peaceful ambience.

Special mention must go to the two resident dogs, Rocky and Rani, who effortlessly win your heart and add even more warmth and character to the retreat. They truly make the place feel like a home rather than just another hotel.

Finally, a word about Amarendra, the owner. Young, energetic, and genuinely passionate about hospitality, he has a keen eye for the finer things in life, and that passion is reflected throughout the property. His enthusiasm and personal involvement elevate the experience far beyond what you'd normally expect from a stay.

Parking is ample, food is good, though we only tried their breakfast which came along with the room booking. Just for information, they do have a food menu from where you can order for your lunch or dinner.

If you appreciate heritage homes, tasteful aesthetics, and warm, personal hospitality over flashy luxury, La Adress Retreat is an easy recommendation. We'd happily return the next time we're in Ooty.

Stayed here for 3 nights in the Heritage Classic room and honestly didn't want to leave.

The property itself is a century old villa — and you feel that the moment you walk in. It's been split into rooms for guests, but it still very much feels like a home, not a hotel. We had a private bedroom and living room with a gorgeous old fireplace (not operational due to safety), and the shared spaces include a big antique filled living room, kitchen and dining area with fridge, water and oven.

Amar and Anthara are such warm hosts and their dog Rani and cat Ladla were very friendly — my kids loved them and played with them the whole trip. Robin the caretaker is super helpful and the food he cooks is genuinely delicious. Proper homestyle meals.

The mornings here are something else — fog, cold, silence, mountain views. Sunsets are stunning too. A private bonfire can be arranged on request, perfect for the chilly Ooty evenings.

There's parking for a few cars, a garden, play area for kids and what looked like a badminton court. Not many shops within walking distance, nearest ones are about a km away so you'll need to take the car. Not really a complaint though — that's the price you pay for those morning views. Highly recommend!

The homely food was one of the highlights — fresh, tasty, and prepared with great care. The service overall was excellent, making our experience even more memorable.

We had a great experience at La Address Retreat…such an aesthetic beauty. The cottages are so comfy, cozy, well maintained and an enticing beauty. As far as the service and food are concerned it’s outstanding and I would like to place special credit to Robin for that. Never felt like leaving the place. Thanks to Mr. Amar and his partner for treating their guests well and also for maintaining La Address Retreat excellently well. Pet parents can stay happily and comfortably with their pets at this place. People travelling to Ooty…I would highly recommend this place.

It overlooks a serene mountain view and has the best sunrise and sunset.

Me and my husband along with our fur baby stayed in the Heritage Grand suite during January and it was the best experience we had.

It was our first time with our pet , but Amarendar was so welcoming.

The property itself hosted very cute fur babies.

Rani , Mixie and her kittens , watching them play around us was the best part.

Arun was amazing and took great care of us and our pet when we were away

Robin cooked amazing food during our stay.

It felt like a place close to home even though we were far away.

Will definetly come keep coming back and also will 10/10 recommend everyone to definetly give this a try ..you will leave with the best experience.
